Production on Season 1 of the A Different World sequel series has officially wrapped filming in Atlanta, marking a major milestone for the highly anticipated reboot at Netflix.
Led by showrunner Felicia Pride, the new single-camera comedy will consist of 10 half-hour episodes and features a fresh ensemble cast including Maleah Joi Moon, Alijah Kai, Chibuikem Uche, Cornell Young IV, Jordan Aaron Hall, and Kennedi Reece. Three of the episodes are directed by Debbie Allen.
Returning cast includes Jasmine Guy (Whitley), Kadeem Hardison (Dwayne), Darryl M. Bell (Ron), Cree Summer (Freddie), Jada Pinkett Smith (Lena James), Karen Malina White (Charmaine), and Ajai Sanders (Gina).
The series centers on Deborah Wayne, the rebellious daughter of Whitley and Dwayne, as she starts her freshman year at their alma mater, Hillman College.
