BlkScript And The Professional Pen Aim To Bring Script Evaluation Services To Screenwriters With New Partnership
BlkScript has officially partnered with The Professional Pen (TPP), a script consultancy founded by former TV executive Shannan E. Johnson, to deliver professional script evaluation services to its growing community of screenwriters.
Designed to bridge the gap between writing and submission, this new offering ensures writers fully understand the strengths and weaknesses of their scripts before presenting them to competitions, studios, producers, or investors. The service provides clear, actionable insight into whether a screenplay is truly ready for the next level.
Each evaluation includes a detailed breakdown of story and structure, a professional assessment of what’s working and what needs improvement, and a final recommendation—PASS, NEEDS DEVELOPMENT, or CONSIDER—along with next steps for revision. All scripts are reviewed by trained TPP Story Experts, with feedback delivered within a two-week turnaround.
Writers who receive a CONSIDER rating may also be selected for The Catalogue, a curated pipeline that connects standout scripts with industry professionals actively seeking new voices. Selected writers will have key project details shared directly with executives, producers, and development teams, with introductions facilitated upon interest.
The service accommodates multiple formats, including short films, half-hour and one-hour TV pilots, and feature-length screenplays, with pricing based on standard industry page counts.
With this partnership, BlkScript continues its mission to empower emerging and established writers by providing the tools, access, and industry insight needed to move their stories forward.
