Deadline has shared an exclusive first look at John Boyega and Cara Delevingne in Chris Sparling’s upcoming Scandinavian folklore-inspired supernatural horror film, ‘The Punishing.’
The film takes place on a remote Icelandic island “where a man miraculously recovers from a terminal illness-but his wife soon discovers the land’s healing powers come at a terrifying price.”
The project is produced by Steven Schneider via Spooky Pictures, William Shockley and Tom Brady of Tiki Tane Pictures, Luke Daniels for Redwire Pictures, Andrew Corkin of Uncorked Productions, and Boyega. Financing for the feature was fully provided by Redwire and Tiki Tane. International sales are currently being handled by Ignite at the Cannes Market, with WME Independent and UTA Independent Film Group managing domestic rights. The film is currently in post-introduction.
