Kerry Washington is set to star opposite Ben Affleck in Animals, a tense new thriller that explores just how far a family will go when everything they have built begins to collapse.
Affleck stars as Mark Kimball, a Los Angeles mayoral candidate whose world is thrown into chaos after his son is kidnapped. Washington plays his wife, Abigail, as the couple races to secure a ransom while confronting a dangerous web of deception and impossible choices.
Directed and co-written by Affleck, Animals marks another major project for Washington, following recent appearances in The Six Triple Eight and Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery. The film also features Gillian Anderson, Steven Yeun, Adriana Paz, Luis Gerardo Méndez and Ray Fisher.
Produced through Artists Equity, the studio founded by Affleck, Matt Damon and Gerry Cardinale, the film combines a high-stakes kidnapping story with the pressure and political backdrop of Los Angeles.
Animals is scheduled to arrive in select theaters and on Netflix on October 9.
