NEON Debuts First-Look Images Of ‘Clarissa,’ A Lagos-Set Reimagining Of Virginia Woolf’s ‘Mrs. Dalloway’
NEON has released an exclusive first look at ‘Clarissa,’ the upcoming film from directors Arie and Chuko Esiri. This reimagining of Virginia Woolf’s classic novel ‘Mrs. Dalloway’ brings the drama to the vibrant streets of modern-day Lagos, Nigeria.




The ensemble cast includes Sophie Okonedo, David Oyelowo, Ayo Edebiri, India Amarteifio, Toheeb Jimoh, and Fortune Nwafor.
According to the official logline, the story follows Clarissa (Okonedo) as she prepares to host a party at her home in Lagos. Over the course of a single night, an unexpected encounter with once-intimate friends from her youth sparks a bittersweet reckoning. As the group reflects on their shared past, they are forced to confront long-buried memories of intricate relationships, passionate love, and lost aspirations.
‘Clarissa’ is set to make its world premiere tomorrow, May 16, at the Cannes Film Festival.
