Netflix is staying in business with Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black, renewing the hit drama for a fourth season before Season 3 premieres.
The early pickup follows the strong performance of Season 2, which was released in two parts and spent six weeks in Netflix’s Global Top 10 while reaching the No. 1 spot in 17 countries.
Created, written, directed, and executive produced by Tyler Perry, the series centers on Kimmie (Taylor Polidore Williams) and Mallory (Crystle Stewart), two women from opposite worlds whose lives become increasingly intertwined through power, family, and betrayal.
Season 3 will see Kimmie claim her place within the Bellarie family, only to find herself caught in a dangerous conflict that forces her to work alongside Mallory. As secrets unravel and loyalties are tested, the family’s empire hangs in the balance.
Perry celebrated the renewal, saying there is still much more of the Bellarie family’s story to tell and thanked fans for their continued support of the series.
The ensemble cast also features Richard Lawson, Debbi Morgan, Charles Malik Whitfield, Amber Reign Smith, Xavier Smalls, Terrell Carter, Ricco Ross, Julian Horton, Steven G. Norfleet, Bryan Tanaka, and several returning cast members.
Netflix has not yet announced a premiere date for Season 3.
