Nia DaCosta has officially boarded the Prime Video series ‘Sex Criminals,’ an eight-episode adaptation of Matt Fraction and Chip Zdarsky’s 2013 Image Comics title from Emily V. Gordon, Kumail Nanjiani, Tze Chun, LuckyChap, and Amazon MGM Studios. She will direct the pilot and second episode, and serve as an executive producer.
The official synopsis for the series reads, “In Sex Criminals, Suze (Imogen Poots) is a normal girl with an extraordinary ability: when she has sex, she stops time. One night, she meets Jon (John Reynolds), who has the same gift. And so they do what any other sex-having, time-stopping couple would do: They rob banks.”
Nanjiani, Gordon, and Chun serve as showrunners and will executive produce the series, with Nanjiani also set to appear in an undisclosed role. Executive producers include Gordon, Nanjiani, and Dani Melia via Winter Coat Films alongside Chun, Dani Gorin for LuckyChap, and Fraction and Zdarsky. Louie Hayes from LuckyChap also serves as a producer.
