Last year, filmmaker Okema T. Moore took home Best Director at the Detroit Black Film Festival.
This year? She’s returning with her own four-project screening block.
On Saturday, September 26 at 1 PM, Moore will showcase an impressive range of work as a director, producer, and actor:

Having multiple projects programmed together in a dedicated block is a rare honor and a fitting reflection of the range Moore has built across filmmaking and performance.
The Detroit moment also comes at an important time for Moore, who is currently participating in the Black Magic Collective’s Feature Film Greenlight Accelerator: The Female Lens with her feature DETROIT ROUNDS, for which she is seeking co-production and financing partners.
From last year’s Best Director win to this year’s four-project spotlight, Moore is continuing to build a body of work across directing, producing, acting, and original storytelling. We told you she was one of 35 Rising Filmmakers to Watch!
